About the Workshop

The Physical Sciences Data Infrastructure (PSDI), the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC, and the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) are jointly hosting an online session focused on the role of PSDI in supporting best practices, and addressing challenges & opportunities, in data curation in physical sciences in the UK.

Building on the in-person Roadshow events last year, we will share the community recommendations for PSDI and examine the possibility of moving toward a Data Curation Hub for physical sciences, using the PSDI’s triple lens of data, technology, and people to guide our discussion.

The event is free to attend, please register here to receive the joining link.

Who Should Attend

This event is intended for anyone involved in or interested in data curation in physical sciences, including the academic research community as well as the industry:

  • Data repository managers
  • Data stewards, research technicians and other research support professionals
  • Academic librarians
  • Funders and publishers
  • Researchers

Why Attend

Join us to learn more about data curation in physical sciences, and influence PSDI’s work and priorities going forward, and network with colleagues in the field.

About PSDI

The Physical Sciences Data Infrastructure (PSDI) aims to provide a data infrastructure that connects existing experimental and computational facilities within the physical sciences and beyond. In the long term, PSDI aims to enable:

  • A platform for data collection, sharing, aggregation, integration, and curation
  • Support for analysis across experimental, simulation, and reference data
  • Combining and enhancing existing data infrastructures
  • Sustaining data resources beyond the lifespan of individual research projects
