Universal Usability

On 27 February 2025, the Physical Sciences Data Infrastructure (PSDI) hosted a webinar titled “Universal Usability”, presented by Cerys Willoughby, University of Southampton. The session explored the fundamental principles of usability and accessibility, emphasizing their vital role in designing effective and user-friendly tools.

The presentation addressed the diverse needs of different user groups and how accommodating these needs enhance software usability for everyone. The aim of the webinar was to discover best practices and design guidelines, illustrated with examples of both successful and flawed design practices.  The webinar was followed by a Q&A session. For those who missed the live event or wish to revisit the discussion, the full webinar is available on our YouTube channel.
